Just One Happy Family is the 10th episode of the first season of the Bewitched.

Endora tells Samantha that her father, Maurice is coming to visit, and reminds Samantha about her father's disapproval of "mixed" marriages and his terrible temper.

When Maurice arrives and realizes that Darrin is a mortal, he loses his temper, and Endora tells him that times have changed and it happens in the best of families.

When Darrin stands up to Maurice, he "disintegrates" him with the wave of his hand. Both Samantha and Endora are furious and tell Maurice to bring Darrin back. Samantha tells her father she loves Darrin and not to take him away from her. Maurice gives in and "rematerialized" Darrin and they start over with their meeting at the dining room table.

  • Samantha tells Maurice that Darrin is from Massachusetts. In the pilot, Darrin says he's from Missouri.
  • It's usual that some warlocks or witches are better in their profession than others. Maurice seems to be one of the best. In this episode it is also shown that an extreme difficult spell demands an enormously physical activation. Maurice gets almost exhausted when he casts the particular spells.
  • This is Maurice Evans's first appearance as Maurice.

  • This episode completed filming on October 16, 1964.
